Queen named top UK band
p2pnet.net News:- Britain’s Queen has usurped The Beatles as Britain’s most popular band.
Ever.
According to the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles and Albums, Queen has spent 1,322 weeks on the chart, compared with the Beatles’ 1,293 weeks, says the Guardian Unlimited.
Others in the Guinness Top Ten are:
3. Elvis Presley (1,280 weeks)
4. U2 (1,150 weeks)
5. Dire Straits (1,136 weeks)
6. Simon and Garfunkel (1,114 weeks)
7. Madonna (1,032 weeks)
8. David Bowie (1,005 weeks)
9. Elton John (989 weeks)
10. Michael Jackson (966 weeks)
The BBC quotes David Roberts, editor of the book, as saying, "Given that Queen’s chart career has been much shorter than those of The Beatles and Elvis, this is an incredible achievement."

It’s shame… about Led Zeppelin… that’s proper rock.
The only reason Queen got big again was after the first Live Aid. Up till then, they’d pretty much faded away.
I like the band, but really – would you want to sit through News of The World or Led Zep ‘The Runes’?

Ok, what popular song’s melody was lifted directly for the melody line they used the last time they sing “WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS” (right after “cause”)? You know this one.

Em…Queen had 20 original albums before disbanding, The Beatles had roughly 16.
Queen formed in 1971, and stayed together ’til 1995.
Beatles formed in 1960, and lasted a full ten years.
Queens ‘chart career’ is more that two and a half that of the Beatles.
David Roberts is apparently an idiot.
