Yahoo text message search
p2pnet.net News:- Yahoo says US users can now tap text messaging for searches, matching a service now offered by rival Google, says Reuters.
Yahoo also said that it was expanding its Yahoo Search on Mobile, which was previously available only on advanced phones such as the Treo. Now, the service yields a full Web search on virtually any phone with a color screen.
Last October, Google launched a service to let mobile phone or handheld users do Web searches using SMS (short message service).
But Reuters quotes a mobile services spokesman as saying that once a user retrieves a reply from Yahoo’s text message search service, they can refresh it without having to retype the query.
“The Yahoo SMS search service is available today for consumers who use Cingular, Sprint and Verizon networks, and more will likely be added soon,” he said, adds the story.
