Hollywood trailers and p2p

p2pnet.net News:- Hollywood’s latest killer movie, the Fantastic Four, was on the p2p networks shortly after its official release.

It isn’t up to much, but that doesn’t matter, as a p2pnet reader writes on the subject.

File sharing is a BOOM [boon? ; ] to GOOD movies, but a BUST to SHITTY movies.

It’s very simple! If you download a movie you like, you DEFINITELY will likely go see it. Not only that, but tell all of your friends and go as a big group.

But if the movie stinks, you would have wasted your bandwith and precious time downloading it, only to watch the FIRST 5 MINUTES to know it’s crap.

That’s what scares hollyshit so much. Their "previews" are amazingly deceptive to MOST tv viewers, who later get a shocking reality check when they go to the theatres and the movie is plain horse poo-poo.

God, you don’t need special effects as much as a GOOD, ORIGINAL INTERESTING STORY. Good acting is a plus, but the key is:

NO GOOD STORY ===> NO GOOD MOVIE

It’s plain and simple.

    That’s trailers for you – it’s easy to make a fantastic looking two minute trailer out of a shitty 90 minute movie.

    Went and plunked down my $4.75 (matinee in a small town, ha ha city folk) to see this CGI fest in the theater. It was fun and looked cool on the big screen. But it’s not a killer. Not a dud either. Okay entertainment for a rainy sunday afternoon. Oh, and by the way, there is NO SUBSITUTE for the big screen at the theater, crying babies and sticky floors noted… Even 60″ will not EVER rival 40 FEET of picture. Just my opinion. Now, if the movie is crap, then you have 40′ of crap…

    Hollydud is a victim of their own practices. They have long had experience in fooling the public. Isn’t that what a movie is to begin with? That mostly you have to put yourself in the frame of mind that it is believable (whether it really is or not) to enjoy the movie? In movie posters (long before the previews was popular) the artists took liberties to show scantly dressed actors that really weren’t that way in the movie. But it sold tickets and so was encouraged. Later came the preview at the movie. Dressed up with bits and pieces of clips and shots of the movie, wrapped up in a drama announcer trying his best to make it sound good, even the duds were massaged till it sounded like a blockbuster to hear the preview. Now on dvd when you rent a movie it is still the same thing.

    Doesn’t really matter that the thrill a minute billing doesn’t live up to the reality of the movie, it only matters that they get you to plop that money down to find out it was yet another dog of a show. Many are tired of wasting money for yet another dud based on the trailers that make it sound so good. The prices are reaching outrageous levels to view the movie and customers want satisfaction. If they walk away saying it wasn’t good over and over, then they lose faith in any sort of movie ever being a blockbuster. For the most part isn’t that what is happening today? People are voting with their wallets and for the rare happening when there is a cult movie or niche movie that fills fans, it is pretty much over for the movie industry. People are renting dvds rather than going to the movies by choice. Lower pricing, better enviroment, and comfortable viewing all lead to that decision. It is easier to swallow a dud at lower prices than to do so at ticket prices.
