Microsoft and The Hulk

p2pnet.net News:- Bill and the Boyz are like viruses. They’re everywhere. And they’re now spreading into the realms of Spiderman, the X-men and the Hulk.

Microsoft has signed a deal with Marvel Enterprises which, says softpedia, gives it exclusive rights to publish multiplayer online games featuring these superheroes.

“The deal covers massively multiplayer online (MMO) game titles, those games that allow a large number of players in various locations to compete, and it looks like this is the only deal of this type Marvel Enterprises will ever sign, according to Tim Rothwell, worldwide president of the Consumer Media Group at Marvel Enterprises, as reported by the Reuters agency,” says the post, adding:

“This agreement refers only to games developed for the future Xbox 360 gaming console, which is due to be launched this fall, and the first the first title is expected around 2008.”

by 2008 (and they must mean Xmas 2008!) there will probably have been at least an xbox3 or xbox4. what’s the point of developing it for the xbox2 if the machine won’t even be in shops anymore at that time?

    idiots.

  2. Reader's Write Says:

Um, yes they are idiots, but the story sez,

“This agreement refers only to games developed for the future Xbox 360 gaming console,…”

  3. Reader's Write Says:

that’s what i mean. they are developing games NOW for a machine that will be obsolete by 2008-2009.

    so, what’s the point?

  4. Reader's Write Says:

I’d guess they mean the 360 and future versions of xbox, but that’s just my guess. MS bought exclusive rights to sell Marvel comix based games. IMHO they won’t be locking it down to just the 360. The point is “exclusive rights” for MS from now on.
