Clinton gets into GTA sex saga
p2pnet.net News:- Senator Hillary Clinton has become part of the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas sex saga.
She wants the US Federal Trade Commission to find out who put the explicit material into the game, which is already being `probed` by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).
Grand Sex Auto: San Andrea is made by Take-Two Interactive Software and pumped out by Rockstar Games.
Players can apparently already procure prostitutes, but with Patrick Wildenborg`s Hot Coffee mod, they can now also have virtual sex.
As well as wanting to know who put the sexually explicit content in the game, Clinton says the FTC should find out if it`s been given the wrong rating by the ESRB, says the BBC. She also wants to find out if game stores are doing enough to stop minors getting hold of GTASA.
At the moment, it`s rated M for Mature meaning in theory, it can only be bought by devotees aged 17 or older. But it should be AO for Adults Only, says California assemblyman Leland Yee, who also says the industry-friendly ESRB might have a conflict of interest in rating games.
In a letter to the FTC, Senator Clinton cited a study by the National Institute on Media and the Family that found 50% of boys between seven and 14 years old could buy mature rated games, says the BBC, going on:
If the game were to be get the rarely awarded Adults-Only (AO) rating, sales of the game could plummet.
The PlayStation 2 version of San Andreas was the best-selling game of 2004 in the US.
Rockstar swears it had nothing to do with Hot Coffee.

Maybe that’s why Bill was such a womanizer, Hillary is too rigid and prudish.
My son once told me “If I don’t know the difference between fantasy and reality I’ve got worse problems than this video game”
It is normal for any person to wonder what it would be like to step out of the mold and be bad. it fulfills that fantasy without compromising our values. Look at Actors, most always saying playing the evil villian is fun and they like those parts the most. How many married couples fantisize in their bedrooms about things they would never do in reality?
The point is that Humans sometimes need a release. Having said that, exposing an 11 year old to overt sex can be troubling to any parent. (although I spent many hours at that age looking at my dads playboys)

I totally agree. This is one of the most violent video games I have ever played. I’ve seen a video clip of the hot coffee scene, and it’s laughable with the poor graphics and the outrageous quotes.
This game is not, by any means, for kids. Even without the killing and sex, the story is too mature. Still, I am amazed that of all the content to bring up, this little mod is what garners all the attention. Whether Rockstar Games programmed it in or not, it was never meant to be seen.
I think the idea that a rating board should have to rate a game based on the content that isn’t really even meant to be in the seen is absolutely unrealistic.

This is amazing. Okay, let me get this straight.
Killing innocent people, cops, and prostitutes is fine and okay.
Having legal and consented sex in a game is too much. Am I missing something here or does this seem wrong?

if a kid sees the clip or the modded game, just tell him/her that they’re wresting greco-roman style. the guy still has his clothes on, so who can really tell what they’re doing?

Everyone and their bother has been looking of a way to get the Rockstar games off the market. They really tried hard to get this game rated for the AO when it came out. The religious nuts had a kitten over it and the do gooders that think a game is responcable for all the woes of violence in the land tried their best to cap the games spread. That didn’t work at all. Now they think they have another shot at it. Their true hearts desire is to control others and have them do as the group believes folks should.
As another writer here mentioned, most kids got a good grasp on what is real and what isn’t. Those that don’t have more troubles than a game could possibly make for them.
Hillary is power hungry. She wants that big ring to be a first for women with her being the historical centerpiece to say it can be done. Any way she can get a cause going for support to get her name in headlines will work for her.
Every generation has had its “questionable media” to see it as the do gooders see it. My generation it was comic books. Everytime one of the nuts proclaims a game or vid gave them the idea as an excuse to get them off the hook for their actions, the do gooders see that as proof something needs done. It doesn’t matter that the nuts that went out and did whatever criminal action were less than a percent of the population. It only mattered that someone, somewhere, acted and used the excuse of “that game” as the reason. As many here have mentioned, there is a far more serious side to the game and that isn’t even being touched. I would certainly agree that killing someone to hijack a car is far more serious than consential sex with clothes on in a comic book style presentation. Do these kids actually think that the parents sex life dies when the kid is born? If so, they got some serious psychological shocks in store when they learn the truth.
Do not misunderstand, I don’t think there is any place of child porn. Certainly not for the children and not for the sick adults that would put them through such. But lets get real here. Consential sex is definately part of life and is not illegal. Killing folks to gain access to their property is. The game isn’t going to be the one to act to make a killing reality. No more than the gun setting on the store shelf is going to be what kills its victim. It takes someone to grab it and use it. Removing the game from the shelves will not stop violence nor sex.

she’s just angry that she wasn’t asked to pose for the mod patch. she needs to get the younger voters interested in her, so what better way than to show her booty-ass in cartoon form and strut her stuff in the next version of the game.

yeah, they could also have bill eating pizza and monica ’smoking’ a cigar!

Who is she or ANYONE for that matter to call for censorship in a game after requiring explicit games to carry ratings.
Disgusting really… a clinton who thinks free speech and artistic expression should be “conditional” upon THEIR political views.
It will be a sad day if this two legged swine were let into office.

I do believe as a matter of fact, that filesharing hurts sales (of inferior product). This in fact may be a good thing. I also believe in free speech, so I don’t think games such as GTASA should be outlawed. However, I don’t think smut should be given a copyright. Copyrights and patents were designed to promote the production of works BENEFICIAL to society not destructive to it. Product such as GTASA, songs from ICP, and other like crap should cease to be produced. I still am amazed that an organization such as the Christian Coalition which claims to promote morality would fall on the sides of these smut producing cartels (against filesharing). If filesharing cuts into their profits, then so be it. Hopefully, bankrupcy will follow.
Any government “regulation” will result in smut companies still churning out their ever more distasteful products while the full force of regulation will prevent smaller companies from doing the same. It wouldn’t surprise me if this company had Patrick Wildenborg code the Hot Coffee mod in order to increase sales. Filesharing is a good thing, and I believe that it will help weed out companies that profit in the destruction of morality and the culture. I do not own any kind of PlayStation, but if I did, it would have a mod chip (I would not even think of buying one if it could not be modded to play downloaded or independently written games). I try to encourage everyone who does own a Playstation to have it modded.

Q:
What the difference between a Democrat and a Republican?
A:
Simple: Their campaign ads and speeches. Other than that, they are exactly the same.
If people want to make a real difference or stop American decay, they would vote for members of other political parties such as the Libertarian http://www.lp.org or Constitution http://www.constitutionparty.com Parties. Unfortunately, most people who vote are still satisfied getting screwed by the Republican and Democrats that they vote in office. They actually believe that voting for one mainstream party member is better than voting for another mainstream party member. I have quit trying to reach most of these people as they still have an irrational loyalty to polititions in “their” party.
I encourage those who are disgusted with voting and the political system to research these alternative parties, register as members of these parties, and to vote for the politions who are members of these parties (if they agree with party’s philosphies). Most people in the P.S.A. no longer vote because they do not see any body worth voting for. By promoting alternative parties to these disaffected voters, the alternative parties actually have a chance at accomplishing something.
