Journalist fired for sexy blog
p2pnet.net News:- "Of my six students, one (the smartest, wouldn’t you know it?) is incredibly hot,” wrote ex-Boston Herald columnist Michael Gee, according to an Editor & Publisher report which credited Boston Sports Media Watch which, in turn, was picked by CNET News’ Workplace.
The quote comes in a blog posted by Gee during his summer job teaching journalism at Boston University, says CNET. The comment continued:
“If you’ve ever been to Israel, she’s got the sloe eyes and bitchin’ bod of the true Sabra. It was all I could do to remember the other five students. I sense danger, Will Robinson."
But, “Sensing danger is one thing, avoiding it quite another,” says Paul Festa on Workplace. “For posting his steamy blog entry to SportsJournalists.com, Gee lost his summer teaching position at BU.”
But, adds Festa, if Gee had been teaching in California, “those remaining five students might have made a more lasting impression on Gee by suing him for sexual harassment”.
Gee declined to comment on the posting, but said his layoff, "included a good severance package, amounting to about 15 months of salary," says E&P, adding:
"He also said he was writing freelance articles for the Village Voice, and had been to Thursday night’s New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox game in Boston for the Voice."
