Actually, the RIAA / MPAA UNDERSTAND COMPLETELY the situation. They know they (the RIAA / MPAA) are WORTHLESS and out-dated. They have scammed and price-fixed for so many decades, they are unwilling to go legitimate.

Thus, they play these litigation and changing laws and play on words (piracy --> I don't see no body attacking ships and rapping / pillaging towns? Do you?).

They are turning up the heat internationally, big time. The question is, we as people who care what are we doing to stop it?! There are many ways. First of all, STOP buying their CRAP. If you really want it, but it used or borrow your friends'. Second be vocal about it. Let your friends know your views. I have, and guess what?! They totally agree. So now, they just lost several hundred customers! HAHAHA

I'm doing my part. If everyone does their part, the RIAA / MPAA will crumble quickly!

You are right Rick. The industry doesn't get the point, if BigChampagne can monitor the p2p site why can't they monitor (and therefore eliminate) infvringing activity. BTW, I never di see BigChampagne expressing any expertise in tracking legitimate activity on-line

The industry doesn't want to get it. What they want is plain and simple. They want cash and plenty of it. Anything less than that isn't acceptable to them. They started out charging all the traffic would bear with this 99¢ a song. For most even that price isn't acceptable with all the fine print and drm that goes with it. While they are chomping at the bits to raise that price they are well aware it didn't take with the consumer as well as it should have because of the flawed business model. Rasing the price of a d/l will only cost them people will to part with the money. Those people will go elsewhere.

What the industry doesn't get is that it's heyday is over.
