MPAA approves Bush effort

p2pnet.net News- US president George W. Bush will be a happy man.

Why?

The Gang of Seven movie studio cartel has approved his decision to create the new Coordinator for International Intellectual Property Enforcement job.

However, that’s all she wrote. Literally.

The MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) puff piece doesn’t even bother to mention the new guy’s name, although it says the MPAA "stands ready to cooperate and assist in this effort in any way we can".

The rest of it’s about how tough things are for the studios, yada yada.

Anyhow, the new guy is Chris Israel, an ex-Time Warner executive.

That doesn’t surprise me. That’s why the lawsuits started off in Texas.
Birds of the same feather flock together….

god damn, why doesn’t someone stop this kind of crap… Copy Write laws and intellectual property laws… and the like are really BAD ideas!!!!
Why does everyone in charge support this?????

no, instead their gonna make an official group thats focus is to force our bogus laws on other countries… >_<

I wish I could form my own country that allowed people to do whatever they wanted on the internet… and a country that has true freedom, unlike the US… a country not run by the money of big companies… >_>
Think about whats good for culture, and for people… NOT BIG BUSINESS!

The REALLY sick thing is that actions like this are making people sympathetic to the Unabomber and Timothy McVeigh!

I get the disturbing feeling that in about 50 years these two will be written in history books as pioneers of the fight agaisnt totalitarian corporate facism in the USA…. <shudder>

That country would be attacked & invaded swiftly…on the grounds that it was a fascist/communist/bla bla bla dictatorship &/or that you stole the election…or that you were a threat to democracy…or you’d be overthrown in a coup – something would be made up so your example didn’t spread like a virus. I’d give your “country” 2 to 5 years tops.

What else would you expect of the fox being allowed to go into the hen house by the farmer opening the door for him? A screw you very much type answer? Yep, I just bet they are gnashing at the teeth to get started.

Just think when they get world piracy under control they can go after the real problem of p2p and downloading. Somehow this reeks of political corruption. Not only another government arm setup but the expense to staff it from one end to the other. This is the second arm Bush has started up. The other was the Homeland Security. Only the budget is so restricted that Homeland Security is running on a shoe string and will depend on years of funding before it is really a viable government arm.

Little Shrub is depending on himself being long going before the bills come due for this BS war, the Homeland Security, and this new Czar that all need funding. Our children really thank you for the oppurtunity to look forward to so much new tax increases they will have to foot for this expanded government. Our citzens feel so much better that they will be looking at ever increasing tax rates to fund all this nonsense also.

PS. Where is the big round up that Homeland Security should be showing us of terrorist groups that have been caught since the office has been initated?

Whoa! Who besides other whacked out fringe extremists are becoming “sympathetic to the Unabomber and Timothy McVeigh”? I’m not saying you are wrong, but I’ve never heard anybody say anything like that in print or in person, and I’ve met some WHACKS. I really don’t think history will look kindly on the cowardly vicious actions of these men.

P.S. It’s a little redundant, but I like this bit. “totalitarian corporate facism”. IMHO it is a world problem, not just a USA problem.
