Mp3 player as boom box
p2pnet.net News Feature- Creative’s Cambridge SoundWorks has come up with a neat gadget – a portable, cordless amp to turn your portable, cordless mp3 player into a boom-box.
Called the PlayDock MP3, at $200 it isn’t cheap, but this triple-speaker docking system, with a 15 watt powered subwoofer with 4-inch driver, accepts an assortment of different sized players including Creative NOMAD Zen, Zen Touch and Zen Micro lines, Apple iPod and Apple iPod Mini players, and the Dell Pocket DJ.
It has a 10 hour rechargeable battery and when it’s on AC power, charges the players it’s amplifying as well as its own internal unit, says Creative.

At a local Radio Shack, a headphone jack to cassette adapter cost $20, and an RCA Lyra MP3 player costs about $60. The same can be had for under 100 bux.
