Gates wins Kai-Fu Lee order

p2pnet.net News- US Judge Steven Gonzalez has granted a temporary order barring ex-Microsoft vp Kai-Fu Lee from working on any Google product, service or project similar to those he worked on at Microsoft, including Internet and desktop search technology.

Bill and the Boyz Microsoft are suing Google for luring Lee into its fold.

“Google, which hired Lee to lead a research and development center it will soon open in China, asked for a more specific list of tasks Lee can and cannot perform,” says the Associated Press.

“Microsoft agreed to provide the court with a recommended list by Monday.”

The trial date is January 9, says AP, adding:

“Microsoft said it paid Lee handsomely and would not have hired him if he had not promised to honor confidentiality and noncompetition agreements. The company said Lee made more than $3 million over nearly five years, and that he earned more than $1 million last year.”

Technically, cause this guy is in China… doesn’t that mean he doesn’t have to follow an American ruling?
I know Google is an American company… but the order says: “US Judge Steven Gonzalez has granted a temporary order barring ex-Microsoft vp Kai-Fu Lee from working on any Google product, service or project similar to those he worked on at Microsoft, including Internet and desktop search technology.”
Does it not say that its directed at Kai-Fu… not at google??

    Soooo… this isn’t very good… lol

Google isn’t under contract, so obviously, they can’t get in trouble…lol
and this guy isn’t in America so our rulling doens’t apply!

  2. Reader's Write Says:

Oh, if he got more than $1 million last year
I think he could afford not to work for a while.
