Grand Sex Auto banned in Oz

p2pnet.net News- Australia has banned the Take-Two / Rockstar game Grand Theft Auto.

Again.

Grand Theft Auto III was banned in Australia in 2001 after being on sale for some time, says the Sydney Morning Herald. “A modified MA 15+ version was later released.”

Take-Two lied about an animated sex scene that was stashed inside the game. It was caught and the rating was subsequently changed from M for Mature to AO for Adults Only, costing the company mega bucks because this meant it was taken out of the reach of people 17 and up, and was also taken off store shelves.

But now The Office of Film and Literature Classification revoked the classification of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, says the story, going on:

“The Classification Board made this decision on the basis that it contains contentious material (activated through a code or otherwise) that was not brought to the board’s attention when it was classified,” it said in a statement.

“The board found the game’s content “contained material that could not be accommodated at the MA15+ classification”. It is now illegal to sell the game, which had been rated MA 15+, the highest classification for video games in Australia.”

Another Rockstar title, Manhunt, who’s hero has a fondness for snuff films, was banned from sale in 2004, says the SMH.

Manhunt was also banned in New Zealand.

Yesterday, an 85-year-old grandmother who’d bought the game for her grandson, 14, sued T2 & R.

Take-Two was also nailed for fraudulent accounting by America’s SEC ( Securities and Exchange Commission)

Is Australia gonna be worst than the US ?
There’s NOTHING porno in the GTA:SA sex-game, and the game should be 18+ anyway. Why ultra-violence is always more OK than sex ? What a bunch of hypocrites !

The rating system I always thought was great it shows you exsacly which games are the best. If you are told not to do something or your not aloud something then I always pretty much do the opposite.
