Last time I checked there was no video iPod.

I have one question for you. If ipods are 'rubish' why did are they the most sold mp3 player. Also, why did the number of iPod sold increase by more than 600% in Apple's Q3.

Yes, Apple only sells toys. We must forget about all those computers they sell. nevermind that they account for 46% of Apple's sales.

I mean who are we kidding Apple is just a toy company...that has about $6 billion in cash.

I think i've posted this about half a dozen times before, but IPOD is not locked up with DRM. It "supports" fairplay, and nothing more. I use my ipod for all my song files, most of which are ripped straight from my cd's to completely unhobbled mp3, aac, or lossless formats (depending on when i ripped them).

My friend makes audio book files which are also free of DRM, which contain bookmarking abilities which ipod supports as well.

Going into your os and "viewing hidden files" will show the folders which contain the songs. The songs are not locked into the device with "drm".. they're hashed in for optimized searches, otherwise it would cost battery life, ram, and resources to get the same performance.

Would you blame dell dj for the DRM'ed napster files? how about the creative labs players?...

WMA is not supported ANYWHERE in apple systems for a reason (mainly because, even though apple makes WMP codecs for quicktime, ms refuses to make a truly interoperable quicktime component for windows media).

Stop attacking ipod as some locked down piece of malware. If you really want I'll record video of all the different file formats going into the device... the easily opened folders with the hash code values for names... and post it on my personal webspace. Will that be enough to stop the mindless apple-bashing diatribes?

Why not focus on how MS is selling out it's customers with "VISTA"..

here's a good summary of what a TRUE lockdown computer will be thanks to the sellouts at microsoft and the obsequeous and spineless hardware companies who are incapable of standing up and saying "NO".
