Harry Potter online. Again

p2pnet.net News:- Chinese Harry Potter fans have begun posting their own translations of the newest version, Half-Blood Prince, online.

And a Chinese reader going by the nick Woodchuckle disliked the ending in the original so much that he re-wrote and posted it on the Tsinghua university Web site, says the Associated Press.

It seems Harry & Co are highly popular in communist China where Harry is "Ha-li Bo-te" and in 2002, “an unknown Chinese author produced an entire fake adventure, "Harry Potter and Leopard-Walk-Up-To-Dragon’," says AP, going on:

“Since the English-language release of the latest Harry Potter book, Chinese fans have begun sharing their own translations for free on Web sites, including those run by Beijing’s elite Tsinghua and Peking universities.

  2. Reader's Write Says:

This is a public safety announcement: Beware of Trolls on this site, they may present dissenting views and interupt our utopian fantasies.

  3. Reader's Write Says:

How long are we going to have to put up with this idiot?

  4. Reader's Write Says:

While I may not agree with you I will defend your write to have your say.

  5. Reader's Write Says:

Sometimes trolls can spark interesting discussion. But when they’re too dumb to know when to stop, they become pains instead of catalysts.

    Cheers!

PRESS RELEASE: The Troll police feign indifference. New tactic deemed inefficient. Trolls steal P2P battlecry “Join The Revolution”. Troll community multiplies. Trolls hire PR company to improve image. Troll leader says Trolls have been misunderstood to long. P2P should embrace Trollhood, and monetise it. Troll Media Networks (TMN)spokeperson says P2P missing the boat, missing the message. TMN looking to sign celebrity Ogre on sponsorship deal. Shrek says he’s ready to sign, Princess Fiona onboard too. TMN say they have repeatedly approached P2P for partnering, they can’t just keep calling all of us names there’s too many of us. Besides weve proven we are ligitimate with mainstream acts like Shrek. Please forgive any typo errors as it’s bloody hard typing with thick green fingers. THE FOLLOWING IS A PAID ADVERT from TMN : Have you ever considered swamp Real Estate. There is a paradigm shift happening in a land far far ………

A bit like those hoards of anonymous pirate downloaders eh! Pains for the majority law abiding citizens and “business models”. You see its not that we have not discovered illegal downloading exists. Its that we see it for the theft that it is. Cheers

  8. Reader's Write Says:

This whole Harry the Pot Head is really BORING…. who gives a shit about a stupid children’s book that is written POORLY — come on folks, the story is nonsensical, “magic” this and “magic” that is NOT interesting, and the characters and ‘relationships’ are so one-dimensional to be irrelevant.

There’s so many other stuff out there. Many of which are free on the internet. Read the NEWS. Go outside and socialize. Play sports. Go to work. Whatever, do something productive and don’t be a sheeple.

With all of this DRM (now in Mac OSX kernel) and “IP rights” shit going on —- you don’t need it. I think of what RMS said… If it doesn’t respect my freedoms I don’t need it, and I won’t use it… This is especially true for NON-ESSENTIAL distractions!

  9. Reader's Write Says:

So just how is a pirate downloader a “pains for the majority law abiding citizens”???? What impact does it have on them?

Don’t waste time on the “it increases prices” garbage either. Companies will quite happily accept any excuse to increase their prices all the while blaming somebody/thing/one else if at all possible. There’s no way a total end to all piracy would decrease prices. In fact prices would go up as soon as the companies realised we had no choice but to shell out for whatever it is they’re hocking.

  10. Reader's Write Says:

Thanks to computers and different networks, we do have a choice. I can listen to cool music all day and not download or play a single RIAA sponsored song. Video is become entertaining as well. I believe that home made full featured films are just around the corner. I hear that the new movie Stealth was a real bomb. The cartels have finally run out of the last ounce of imagination. The only new movies I have seen so far are glorified reruns

  11. Reader's Write Says:

Now, here is an original soap opera. Not too much special effect or big vista scenery, but a lot of drama. “The Scene” is a movie for hackers by hackers :-)
