Them thar counterfeiters …

p2pnet.net OT News: What with the entertainment and software cartels whining non-stop about how much they’re losing to counterfeiters, it’s easy to forget about all those Rolex and Gucci and even Marlboro fakes.

And what about blue jeans?

The clip on the right is from a pic taken in the Chatuchak market, Krung Thep, Thailand.

It comes in a flickr post which says the label reads: =if(Label="","RMA","?") and, “This is an Excel function,” it goes on. “It also would work in Microsoft Access. The counterfeiters are using Excel or Access to store all the logos for their counterfeit jeans and then print them out onto leather.

“This is what happens when there is a bug in their software.”

Something you think we should know? tips[at]p2pnet.net

    Hey, that’s cool!!!!

That just gave me an idea —- for ‘brand names’ — brand names with a message. It’s gonna be a hit for those who DON’T have sheep minds!

    Thanks for the idea!

Microsoft products are being used to aid counterfeiters. Someone should sue microsoft for creating software that aids such infringements.

  3. Reader's Write Says:

one might even say they are inducing infrigment

You know the vast majority of malware in all its forms is probably created using MS’s development tools too. I guess the authorities are just going to have to shut MS down, or stop them creating and selling development tools.

Though i guess the people making malware have probably never actually PAID MS for any of those tools.
