Marathon session kills gamer
p2pnet.net News:- A South Korean who played computer games for 50 hours almost non-stop died of heart failure minutes after finishing his mammoth session in an Internet cafe, says Reuters, going on:
“The 28-year-old man, identified only by his family name Lee, had been playing on-line battle simulation games at the cybercafe in the southeastern city of Taegu, police said.
“Lee had planted himself in front of a computer monitor to play on-line games on August 3. He only left the spot over the next three days to go to the toilet and take brief naps on a makeshift bed, they said.”
A Taegu provincial police official is quoted as saying death was presumed to be down to heart failure “stemming from exhaustion”.

why did he die if he took naps? I have heard of people who have stayed up for 28 days to a month on meth and I don’t see why they didn’t die really? Is it possible to stay up 50 hours without taking naps without passing out while not being on drugs?

With a few friends we once had a contest to see who could stay awake the longest. We were playing Xbox and PS2 to keep us awake. I came in second after 43 hours my friend said he then went to bed after me.
If a man died after 50 hours w/Naps, he must have had heart problems beforehand?

This just simply cannot be a true story! My guess is it is some sort of hoax. The human body simply will not allow you to do that much damage to yourself. All of these assumptions of bad health are more easily explained away by a hoax (or by the health services in Korea that still believe sleeping in a room with a fan will kill you).

This doesnt mean that it is a hoax. But he had to have had previous health issues. I have most likely done something close to thins multiple times. I smoke occasionally and so on. He probably should have stopped when his eyes started spacing out.
