eDonkey overtakes BiTorrent
p2pnet.net News:- eDonkey could be the next important p2p application to feel the major movie studios breathing hotly down its neck.
It`s now the network of choice for video file trading, beating out BitTorrent which is, increasingly being used for the distribution of legitimate content.
That`s the conclusion drawn by CacheLogic in what it describes as the first truly definitive study based not on estimates, but on actual packet data and traffic levels analyzed at tier-one ISPs worldwide.
Overall Mix of peer-to-peer traffic by volume, across the four major p2p networks:
Audio: 11.34%
Video: 61.44%
Other: 27.22%
Microsoft video formats represent 46% of aggregate worldwide p2p traffic, says CacheLogic, adding that 65% of all audio files by volume of traffic are still traded in the mp3 format, “but a surprising 12.3% are in the open-source OGG file format (almost all exclusively traded on the BitTorrent network, particularly in Asia)”.

Quote “Microsoft video formats represent 46% of aggregate worldwide p2p traffic.” since you never see a mainstream movie or television show in this format, i can only assume that porn was included in this study.

Edonkey is king, ive been using it for 6 years and bittorrent sucks. mind you i speak for large file sizes mainy i.e. 250MB-5GB files, all of which i have downloaded for mac and pc and work fine smaller files are they too, and all it takes to look for something is one search, it was much faster back in the day.
long live the donkey!!!!
