p2pnet - rss feed: HELP !!!! - Day Three
p2pnet.net News:- We’re now into the third day of our appeal for $2,500 to free up p2pnet’s tech manager, Sixto Luis Santos, so he can finish off the new content management system without having to worry about where the mortgage is coming from.
As we said yesterday, this’ll allow us to get the new site happening. It’ll have a number of sections instead of one main page, as at present, and will open up the advertising possibilities. Eventually, we’ll be able to eventually hire least two full time writers, get Sixto online full-time, buy some decent computer equipment for ourselves (my system is on its death bed), organize a new server. And so on.
Since yesterday, a further $180.50 has come in through PayPal. Of that, we get $153. Jeez. No wonder the financials businesses are always reporting phenomenal profits !
Yesterday brought in $90 ($85.13 to us) so altogether, so far p2pnet supporters have contributed $270.50, meaning we’re a little closer to the goal. And on top of that, we’ve had 11 pledges for mainly unspecified amounts.
Meanwhile, I had a word with my bank manager yesterday and she’s advancing me $1,000, which will be on its way to Sixto tomorrow. That’ll take care of his mortgage for this month.
I’ll have to keep the campaign running for a while yet, but I’ll take if off the front page on Saturday.
We’re working hard to do what we can to make sure the entertainment and software cartels don’t get away with their lies, misinformation and disinformation.
We feel this is vitally important because although we realise all the major international conglomerates are fundamentally as dishonest as each other (Hey! It’s a business requirement !) the entertainment cartels control almost 100% of the flow of mainstream news and information, with al that implies.
As we said first time around, cut-and-paste journalism and reporting by press release is now standard for both the major on- and offline mainstream media and, regrettably, some sites perceived to be presenting unslanted news from the other side of the fence. It plays straight into the hands of the MPAA, RIAA, CRIA, ARIA, IFPI, BPA, BSA and all the other consumer (that’s you) control and manipulation organizations.

I’m a full-time college student supporting my fiance and our 7 month old baby. If I had $2500 to donate I sure as hell would. But for the meantime i’m chunking all the change I can muster up to help keep the site up. So i hope a little goes a long way in the end. Hopefully other people will recognize the kind of news ya’ll put out. It’s to help us to understand what kind of society we are starting to live in. Corporate law rules the land more so these days than ever. RIAA, MPAA, whatever else is out there can keep trying to throw their dollars at Congress and influence them, but it us who ultimately rule this land. Let us not forgot this!!
