Zotob creators arrested
p2pnet.net News:- With a little (appropriate) help from Bill and the Boyz, as well as the FBI, authorities in Morocco and Turkey tracked down and arrested two men said to be responsible for the Zotob worm, which caused so much alarm and consternation among Microsoft, CNN, the New York Times, ABC News, and others.
"The swift resolution of this matter is the direct result of effective coordination and serves as a good example of what we can achieve when we work together," FBI cyber spokesman Louis Reigel said in a press release, says Aljazeera.
The RIAA, MPAA and BSA would drink to that. They regularly and routinely use local and foreign police and other services on entertainment and software cartel business.
Farid Essebar, 18, from Morocco, and Atilla Ekici, 21, from Turkey, “are believed to have written and unleashed the Zotob and Mytob worms that hit the Internet less than two weeks ago, the FBI said in Washington on Friday,” says the story.
Zotob was yet another manifestation of an e-bug which took advantage of a yet another critical Microsoft security hole.
F-Secure had a blow-by-blow account.
