Amazing Net secret !!!

p2pnet.net News:- Are you sitting comfortably? Then we`ll begin.

The P2P world has a dirty secret.

Who says? Marc Freedman of RazorPop fame.

Want to know what the dirty secret is?

There are hundreds of millions of files being shared at any one time.

Nooo. Really?

Want to know what else?

P2P fans can only find a tiny percentage of these files.

Oh.

And why can p2p fans only find a tiny percentage of these files? Now it can be revealed.

“P2P is very different from the Internet,” observes Freedman. “Once you connect to the Internet, you can access any web user or server.”

You CAN? Gosh !!!!!!

“In contrast the P2P universe is composed of several different and non-connecting P2P networks,” says Mr Freedman. And that means >>>>>>> “It’s like going to a library and being told you can look only at the books on one shelf.”

But, all you surfers and p2p fans and file sharers and researchers and site owners and application designers and so on who’ve been blundering around blindly for all these years, there IS a solution.

Freedman to the rescue with his rusty TrustyFiles.

V 3.0 is now the connecting glue among P2P networks.

Now you know ; D

Meanwhile, “Marc`s TrustyFiles has done nothing but steal the code of open source projects and claim it as their own, and piggy back on open source projects in general,” posted Cory Higgins a while back.

“All in the hope of making a few bucks.”

This Razorpop crap is dull. What the hell is this guy talking about? This guy is a shill for law enforcement with his version that he tries to sell to the government. Stay far away from it. And next time, I hope p2pnet.net lets his fluffy press announcements go by without flinching. As it is, it was just a ploy for CrappyFiles/DullPop Freedman to get a little press for his copycat blog while trying to pimp his company as members of the DCIA, as if that meant anything! Razorpoop is leading P2P into the toilet.

  2. Reader's Write Says:

i dont think anyone is in danger of buying razorpop from the p2pnet write up =)

  3. Reader's Write Says:

    hahahahahahaha

  4. Reader's Write Says:

Like going to a library and being told you can’t get a certain book here, go to a different library… XD

  5. Reader's Write Says:

    From the TrustyFiles website:

“Your P2P searches are missing 79% of all files shared.”

This figure is pulled completely out of thin air. How exactly does RazorPop know what P2P software I’m using? Without knowing what networks a user connects to already, how can they calculate what the user is missing out on?

“TrustyFiles is the only P2P software that simultaneously downloads a single file from all major P2P networks and the web for blazing file transfer speed.”

Incorrect. There are a few apps that have been able to do this for a long time.

“TrustyFiles is the only P2P software to download a file from Bit Torrent and all major P2P networks.”

    See above.

“TrustyFiles 3.0 is the only P2P software that allows you to share files with friends who can download them across multiple P2P networks.”

    See above.

Also, Overnet and FastTrack are proprietory networks. Unless RazorPop has forked out the cash to access them, I can’t see how this wouldn’t be regarded as a hack. As those networks are built using intellectual property owned by MetaMachine and Sharman Networks respectivly, I’d say there is a very strong likelyhood that RazorPop is running afoul of the DMCA and a few other laws.

Oh, and they advertise the fact that they’re violating those copyrighted works too. Great post-Grokster marketing guys.

  6. Reader's Write Says:

w/p2p its more like going to a library and being told if that guy over there sees you getting that book, hes going to break your knees, but have fun with the book, he probably wont see you anyway

  7. Reader's Write Says:

The universe truly is larger than P2Pnet. The fact is many P2P users and many people in the press don’t know the difference between a P2P network and a P2P client, and don’t know that users with one client or network can’t typically access another.

We welcome your review of our software and sticking to the facts. You don’t do anybody any good when you publish sarcasm, attitude, and innuendo. That only diminishes your credibility. Your smear tactics put you in the league of such fine company as the RIAA PR marchine and the Republican party inner circle. On the other hand if that’s your goal, you’re succeeding nicely.

Please get your facts correct. We make a mistake and used open source code without attribution well over a year ago in software released in May 2004 (TrustyFiles 2.2). We used GnucDNA, which was only a small part of our overall code. That was corrected in the next release. We have not used any open source since then.

  8. Reader's Write Says:

    Alex,

I’ll just start with one of your false statements. You say the following statement is not correct “TrustyFiles is the only P2P software that simultaneously downloads a single file from all major P2P networks and the web.”

What other software simultaneously downloads a file from eDonkey, Overnet, Bit Torrent, Gnutella, Gnutella 2, Fast Track, and the web?

  9. Reader's Write Says:

I think the problem lies in the definition of “major P2P networks”.

Your definition of a “major network” is any network that TrustyFiles happens to connect to.

My definition includes any network with more than a million simultaneous users (i.e. a significant network in it’s own right, not just in comparison to other networks with a few thousand users).

    For your information, BitTorrent is not a P2P network – it’s a P2P protocol.

Did you want to discuss my other “false” statements, or are you prepared to let it rest? Have you managed to licence the use of Overnet and FastTrack by the way?

  10. Reader's Write Says:

~What a utter stupid article.. who writes this bullshit anyway?

Booooring…. bullshit.. booo.. P2P.net sucks.. assoles!

  11. Reader's Write Says:

    “Booooring…. bullshit.. booo.”

you know what sucks? ANONYMOUS COWARDS SUCK.

  12. Reader's Write Says:

wonder who wrote this masterpiece of prose? hehe

  13. Reader's Write Says:

    Alex,

I take it your lack of a competitive example means that you agree that TrustyFiles is indeed the only software to access and simultaneously download from the major networks and their derivatives, which the press release defined as eDonkey, Overnet, Bit Torrent, Gnutella/2, Fast Track, and the web.

You wrote: ‘I think the problem lies in the definition of “major P2P networks”‘. There is no problem, just a matter of opinion. We have different definitions of major P2P networks. You certainly have the right to create and apply your definition, as do I.

    Marc
