Nikon, Kodak Wi-Fi cameras
p2p news / p2pnet:- The world’s first Wi-Fi cameras able to record at 30 frames per second and with 640 X 480 pixel resolution are on the way from Nikon and Kodak.
Nikon’s Coolpix P1 ($550) and P2 ($400 ) cameras will be out this month with Kodak’s EasyShare One ($600) slated for October, says tom’s hardware guide.
The 8.0 megapixel Coolpix P1 comes with a 4X optical zoom. The P2 also has 4X zoom, but the resolution is only 5 megapixels.
Kodak’s 4 megapixel EasyShare One will have a 3X optical zoom.
“All the cameras offer wireless transfer direct to a printer, but an extra wireless adapter must be purchased,” says tom’s, adding:
“For transferring to a computer, the Nikon cameras beam pictures directly into the ‘PictureProject’ software. This means users are either tied to their desktop PC, bring their notebooks along or install the software on a friend’s computer to be able to get their shots off the camera in a wireless fashion.
“Kodak has partnered up with Hotspot providers like T-Mobile to offer direct-to-the-Internet transfers.”
