A note to the Publisher:
We know that this is off-subject. It’s an out-and-out. no-fooling, no disguise, PR release promoting our web site, Guys That Lie.com (we protect women from guys who lie to them online).
BUT WAIT!
If you’re unhappy about the release being off-subject, it also contains new and valuable scholarly research on single mom online dating from the U.S. Department Of Justice
If you wish, you have our permission to just use the research stuff and delete all mention of Guys That Lie – However, if you do – we just hope that you can handle the guilt…
So here goes:
San Francisco, CA
Pedophiles In Love With Single Moms. Can It Be?
Pedophiles are learning to love single moms. Why? because thousands of single moms are inadvertently creating happy hunting grounds for that subspecies of pedophiles who like their prey young – really young.
“Think of it” says Crystal the Jacquez, managing editor of Guys That Lie.com, the online back grounding site. “If you’re one of the tens of thousands of pedophiles with a taste for really young kids, how do you get to them? Children under five or six are just too young to be online by themselves.”
“So what does this most dangerous form of pedophiles do?” asks Jacquez, “He surfs social networking sites looking for the pages of proud single mothers just aching to show potential dates how beautiful their children are and just hoping to attract men who will not only will love them, but will love their children too.
Well, the single moms who put photos of their pre-school kids on their social networking homepages are certainly attracting at least one type of child-loving guy – pedophiles”
Here’s an excerpt from a report in the journal American Psychologist, published by the American Psychological Association, regarding pedophiles stalking pre-schoolers on the internet:
“Finding prepubescent victims directly (on the Internet) is quite rare; such offenders use the Internet in other ways. Pedophiles typically get access to preschool victims through online contact with parents”
“If you have pictures of your child on line,” says Jacquez, “don’t be too surprised to get a message like the following from some nice sounding guy”:
“Hey! I just saw your profile on Facebook and you are one great looking lady --- and that little girl of yours is just marvelous looking! She looks so bright etc. etc. etc!”
“You’re going to have a new best friend very soon,” she says. “Count on it!”
Jacquez cites the following statistic from: Offender Characteristics, U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics re. Victim-offender relationships in sexual assault regarding who sexually assaults children under 6 years old.
Who assaults children under 6 years old:
Trusted family members: 48.6%
Strangers: 3.1%
Trusted family acquaintances: 48.3%
“If a pedophile targets your child’s photo on your homepage, trust us,” says Jacquez, “they’ll become a ‘trusted family acquaintance’ soon enough. “
“One thing more thing,” says Jacquez, “when you meet a new guy online, check him out immediately with us at Guys That Lie.com (www.guysthatlie.com). Our site is free and was built in order to empower women to check out the backgrounds of guys that they meet online.
“First, check him out in our Child Molesters Section, then in our Criminal Records Section. After that, check out all his other claims about his background. There is no way,” she says, “that you can be too careful.”
Guys and Lies also has a special page on Facebook at www.facebook.com/guysthatlie and on MySpace at www.myspace.com/guysthatlie.
Jacquez asks you to please forward this article to single moms you know who have their kid’s photos online..

Look, the last claim was filed because I couldn't get in touch with the seller and then contact was made and I was told my product didn't ship because it took 4 to 6 weeks to ship it from the drop shipper in Virginia.

That was 3 weeks ago or more. It has now been WELL past the 4 to 6 weeks and still nothing and no reply from the seller either.

Now your telling me that it's ok for them to rip me off for $1,200.00 because of some stupid policy that some idiot sat down and figured out one day when he had nothing better to do ?????

Watch how THIS will make you loose business I put this crap on every blog from here to eternity. Ebay and paypal wow what a bunch of crooks....

I can also copy and paste this letter in my email and send it to all 200+ contacts in my address book.

"
Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your concerns. I am happy
To assist you further."

ok I am waiting for you to assist me further.

Dear Barbara Dully,

PayPal understands your concern and desire to resolve the dispute in
question. However, once a claim has been canceled, it is considered
resolved and cannot be reopened.

Should you have the need to file another claim in the future, we suggest
that you do not cancel the claim until you have received the merchandise or
a refund.

We encourage you to continue to work with the seller for a mutual
resolution. You can seek other avenues of resolution such as an auction
website if one was used to conduct this transaction. We value your business
and regret that you have had this experience. To avoid similar experiences
in the future, we recommend that you read our dispute resolution policy by
clicking on https://www.paypal.com/bcp You may also copy and paste the
entire link into the address bar.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again.

Sincerely,

1. Why cannot Mrs Santangelo press charges against the RIAA for illegally accessing her computer under various laws protecting against computer hacking?
2. If the RIAA simply used KAZAA to look at her computer to see what files are available then how do they know they were real music files and not just names of records? unless theyactually downloaded the files in which case would they not be violating the P2P user policy of downloading copyrighted material?
3. What evidence would they actualy have, if they took these files from her computer without her access they the evidence should not be allowed as it was illegally obtained, and again back to #1, would they not be in violation of the laws by accessing a computer without permission.
4. What about subpoening all the technology they use to infiltrate the computers, in this P2P her computer would be the server and they would have to track it by IP and MAC Address.
5. Was there any specially developed software that goes into the suspected computer to search for files? again Illegal to do this without permission.

I am sure there are many other questions but why can't she take the fight to them?

Dear Mrs. Santangelo,

PLEASE let us know where to donate to your legal fund. It is outrageous that a corporation of hooligans (the RIAA) would try to put the squeeze on you. You have my deepest sympathy and support.

Best Regards,

C.D.

It strikes me that the bully-boy protection racket tactics employed by Organised Media might be used against them...

They demand that those they randomly choose pay several thousand pounds/dollars etc. for something which they assume that the individul has breached copyright over [without proof] and then threaten to 'wreck their lives' if they don't. This is indeed tantamount to blackmail or demanding money with menaces.

Ok, so the gloves are off. Time for a bit of quid pro quo methinks!

If they are going to use gangster-style intimidation tactics to wreck peoples lives, perhaps we should adopt the same approach with some of the xxAA's staff/lawyers/management? It's surely not that difficult to find out where they live, and would be fairly simple to apply a little bit of "personal" pressure to get them to lay off. If they carry on, maybe somebody ought to threaten to send the boys round to have a word with their kneecaps........They would be able to avoid the issue if they would withdraw their spurious and heavy-handed suits. In the meantime, perhaps they may wish to get used to the idea of hospital food.......administered through a straw.

They might currently be hiding behind their big pal, the american judicial system, [is that an oxymoron?] but there are more of us than there are of them and one day, they will metaphorically get caught without their big mate!

I'd like to see them try to type some of those writs with broken fingers..... ;)

Greedy bastards.

That's ridiculous. An IP address can match someone else's as well. They aren't all unique.

I own a popular website that deals with filesharing and I have thousands of hits per day and a strong community. I guarantee I could generate a lot of cash for this court battle!! I also have 40+ affiliate sites who would post donation links.

Battle them to the end, and we are all with you all the way!

P2PUnited would get involved too if you contact them!

i think you missed the point of the article, hesrself and her children are entirely responsible since they all claim not too own the account in question. Her computer was efectively hijacked by a friend who used the account without consent, hence the files being shared on her machine.

Her defence will need too include proof of this I guess.

Remember some reasonable doubt, that she knew anything about the account, which could reasonably constitute as a technical issue that at that time she would know little or nothing about, since many people have no exposure or interest in these matters.
Part of the RIAA prosecution will need too disproove her ignorance of these issues at the time the account being used.

Remember this is a test case which could go against the industry, so just saying she was in the wrong prior to the case being heard is predudice to this case.
