Simplified Chinese Skype
p2p news / p2pnet:- Chinese mobile Net company Tom Online (TomO) and Skype today said they’ve agreed to establish a 51% and 49% joint venture with Tom Online holding the larger piece of the pie.
The two teamed up last year, “to bring to Chinese Internet users a state of the art communication tool and instant messaging service,” said Skype at the time. Co-branded as TOM-Skype in China, the service runs solely through TOM Online.
Under the new agreement, the joint venture company will “develop, customize and distribute a simplified-Chinese version of the Skype software and premium services to Internet users and service providers in China,” says ChinaTechNews, adding:
“Terms of the deal were not disclosed.”
