Soribada ceo indicted
p2pnet / p2p News:- Yang Chung-hwan, ceo of Korea`s Soribada, has been indicted for alleged copyright infringement.
The Big Four record labels, three based in Europe with the other in the US, were behind a ruling which compelled the company to halt its free service.
Now, Chief executive Yang Chung-hwan and the company itself were indicted on charges of operating a profit-seeking business while using 10 unauthorized Korean pop-music files, says the Korea Herald.
Yang was not arrested.
Soribada, Korea`s largest Internet music sharing site with an estimated membership of five million, hasn’t decided yet whether to appeal, says the Herald, adding, Yang has insisted that Soribada should be regarded as any other search engine on the Internet.
