You will be pleased to know that a UK version has been launched. The site looks like it will be bigger than Peter Mosier’s original. New Quotes have been added along with a critique. At this point in writing the author has got up F for finance, hence me coming across this thread.

There’s even advertising in Google for it! (Although they have done a metacrawl on it yet)

Work? HA! yes work your poor children out of bed on SAT mornings and encourage them to skip their homework and have hopes of having a life as a child living in America…make them see/read the beautiful pictures on the pages of literature, the “perfect” world we all strive to live in…..images from the publications showing devastation and destruction from the “LOVING” GOD they’re taught to fear…yep….its work boy….man, it’s work to get through all the therapy you’ll need to realize that in our society, you might need an education..and writer…… WE ARE a part of this world that JUDAS was?….as well as JESUS when he helped the prostitute…. which is it for you?…..give me a break..!! I was lucky enough to meet the man behind the Quotes site when I decided to attend an x-jw get-together in Canada a couple years ago. I was very impressed by his personality, intelligence and struggle to help others, including his mother open their eyes to the reality behind the JW religion. I am FOREVER THANKFUL to people like him and others who shared information online with those seeking answers to doubts that never were answered while attending the kingdumb hall. He, like many others who have had the veil lifted from their eyes feel the extreme desire to help people escape from this negative religion. For that he is someone I’m very proud to have broken bread with and I hope he succeeds in this battle with the Watchtower Society.

Please read what I wrote. I never mentioned the Nazism. You are the ridiculous one here, go re-read the post (mine) that started the thread! I mentioned in my post the eerie similarity between the Communists and the Society in not accepting critcism, and I used the Internet as an example of that.
Please respond to what I did say, not to what I DID NOT say!

I said nothing about the Nazi. Nor did I compare the Society’s acts to that of Stalin. Obviously you never took the time to really read the post. I said that the Society is acitve in finding out which sites they can shut down, and they will grab every opportunity they can. Nor did I say anything about things of the past, to the contrary, I’m talking about their activites TODAY.

So, in these respects they are using some of the tactics used by their former oppressors, the Communists of Eastern Europe before the Iron Curtain fell. I think this is very clear from my post. The Society has NEVER to my knowledge said ‘we were wrong’. Never, whoever you are out there. The day they do, I’m ready to start attending meetings again.

That day will never come, I suppose. Take a Valium and simmer down.

I have access (as 100% of JW’s do)to WT works from the 50’s on up and sometimes it’s even funny the way the Society handled things back then. The thing is that the Society isn’t trying to hide past teachings. Anybody can have access to those teachings. My parents and I have very old books that serve to demonstrate how the understanding has gotten clearer through the years. At the beginning of the 20th century we even celebrated Christmas. Anyone can go to the Watchtower in NY and there’s a small museum there where they even have recordings of speeches of Russell and Rutherford. So, no, obviously the Watchtower doesn’t need to hide past teaching. On the contrary, it even gives a sence of pride because it only shows that the lights does get brighter with time if you realy follow bible principle.

This is so off the wall!
Of course, an organization needs money to function. The early Christians keep a pot with the money of the “organization” back in the first century, Why? … because they were organized. Judas was stealing from the money that Jesus and his disciples kept for taking care of things that needed money. Do the math, almost 7 million JW’s across the world, of course there’s a lot of money involved. Yet still when the French goverment declared that the Watchtower over there had to pay taxes it only brought to light on average each JW over there contributes only 6USD a month. A group of people united for a cause get organized. I benefit greatly from my organization even though I don’t contribute much mostly due to my present circumstances. The Society isn’t demanding money from me nor does anybody know how much(if any) does each individual member contributes. It works great.

True Christians respect and treasure the writings of Bible scholars in the 1600s, 1700s, 1800s, and 1900s.

95% of Jehovah’s Witnesses have never read Watchtower publications which were published in the 1960s.

WHY?

Because they are told not, because the Watchtower Cult leaders do not want today’s victims to know about their ridiculous FAILED PREDICTION that Armageddon would occur in October 1975.

It is all the FAILED PREDICTIONS for years past, such as 1874, 1878, 1881, 1914, 1918, 1919, 1920, 1921, 1925, etc., etc. that is behind what you deceitfullyly call “warranted corrections”.

“Jehovah’s Witnesses” are a plague on mankind, and are blasphemers of the name they hijacked.

I don’t know how long you have been a JW (who are obsessed with keeping statistical track of everything they do with regard to “preaching”), BUT JWs do in fact count “hours”, number of “return visits”, and the number of “bible studies” for the time that they spend preaching in their own “air-conditioned house” teaching their “own kids about Noah’s ark”.

Additionally, JW males also count “time” when they travel to and deliver “public talks” at either their own “air-conditioned” Kingdom Hall, or a neighboring “cozy church” (Kingdom Hall).

ALSO, the Watchtower Society does NOT distribute for “FREE” all the materials you list. Individual JWs are required to “donate” back to the Watchtower Society the retail value of any materials they obtain for personal use or distribution.

This arrangement is nothing more than a SCAM to keep the Watchtower Society from paying sales tax to state governments, thus violating Jesus Christ’s instructions “to pay back to Caesar what is Caesar’s”.

JWs who know as little as you about your own Watchtower religion should not be disputing with nonJWs on public discussion websites.

Well I agree to a degree with the poster calling the comparison to Nazism and Communism ridiculous logic…..but the JW’s certainly do use some of the same tactics - shutting down anyone who disagrees with fear of expulsion.

If you kick out everyone who disagrees you don’t have unity you have uniformity.

And there is that long list of children who have died from lack of blood transfusions, and for what?

Actually, Jehovah’s Witnesses teach that today only the bible speaks for God. Modern Witness literature is explicitly understood to be NOT inspired of God. Over the decades, the progression of Witness teachings bears evidence that Watchtower truly has been receptive to reviewing their writings and making corrections when warranted. That’s why this continued focus on decades-since-superceded writings is so frustrating for Witnesses and so misleading to outsiders
