Want to help RIAA victims?

p2p news / p2pnet:- If you’re a tech-head and you’re worried about the way the Big Four record label cartels are riding roughshod over innocent men, women and children, there may be something you can do about it.

Patricia Santangelo was the first person to fight the labels, but she won’t be the last and Ray Beckerman, representing Santangelo, says he’s sure computer-related issues will come up.

Tomorrow, p2pnet will be running a feature outlining the facts around more victims who’ve decided enough is enough and in at least one of them, the question How did that get on my hard drive? arises.

“As you know, the RIAA has unlimited resources it is willing to throw into these litigations, but for ordinary folks sued in this morass of litigation, hiring computer forensic experts will be very difficult,” says Beckerman on Recording Industry vs The People.

With that in mind, he’s suggesting you might be able to help through through the Electronic Frontier Foundation”.

"The Cooperating Techs list is a low volume list that connects attorneys and callers who need technical assistance with technologists who have the expertise and the desire to assist," says the EFF. "We will post a note to the list with a basic description of the project and if you’re on the list and are qualified and interested, you contact us, and we’ll connect you to the attorney."

Stay tuned.
