Unless you want a virus, i suggest against downloading any type of executable software on anywhere but torrents.

Torrents are 95% safe. Check the comments on the sites where you find them, if there are 3+ favourible comments, then it's likley safe. But remember to always use an anti-virus(Grissoft AVG) + firewall(Zone Alarm/Sygate) + antispyware(MS Anti-spyware).

I haven't had a virus or spyware for over 8 years :)

The following is misquoted:
<Quoting Panda Software's Forrest Clark, the worm redirects Google users to a google dupe site in Germany "which replaces Adwords ads with phishing links," says the story./>

Clarification:
The spoofed Google page replaces ads with phony ads that direct traffic to the sites in the phony ads, not necessarily for phishing. Instead, this type of worm could possibly be used in phishing attempts if it were modifying the hosts file to spoof banks instead of Google.

As another poster mentioned here, among the misrepresentations that the **AA's have tried to foist off on the public and the law makers is that of:

Youngesters being exposed to porn
Of p2p being rife with viruii, trojans, and malware
Of p2p being a nest of theives
Of p2p damaging commercial operations

We all know that the videos that the cartels put out are as close to soft porn as one can legally squeeze on the public airwaves.

The **AA's know they have the malware portion right, they paid to have it done.

The claim of the nest of theives looks just as good on those making the original charge.

Since no figures have been shown as to how such estimates are arrived at, other than those the **AA's purposely manipulate, there is no dependable method to arrive at such a conclusion. The damages claimed are taken as "The Word From On High" without any sort of concrete proof. If is beyond me how they can claim damages for infringement with laws set up against the true piracy; that of coping and selling. Since the selling part is not applicable as a profit motive, the laws had to be adjusted to see it their way for a method to show any sort of gain as motive.
