Me and my evil ways ……
p2p news / p2pnet:- I am one of the scofflaws that the recording industry is trying to eradicate.
I am middle-aged and have a substantial collection of vinyl recordings (albumns), from the sixties and seventies.
Occasionally I want to hear one of the songs from one of these oldies albums, which by the way are all stored away, (my old turntable has needed a cartridge for about 15 years or so) so, I download the song, listen to it, and reminisce.
There is very little being put out by the record companies these days that I wish to buy, the last cd I bought was a few years ago..(Santana). In short, I am going to continue my “evil ways” and download the occasional oldie.
By the way, the record companies have screwed more artists out of money than all the p2p’s combined.

:Hello,” says a p2pnet reader in response to the Me and my evil ways …… post.
“Last year I was negotiating with one of the major labels on bahalf of one of the peer to peer companies. One day last fall I met with their representatives in their executive dining room where the wait staff ,attired in clean black outfits and white cotton gloves, served the food on sterling silver platters. During the lunch meeting these Senior executives from the label said ‘In the good times these waiters came right to our desks to serve our lunch on these silver platters’.”
“I asked them, ‘When were the good times?’
“They responded, ‘Before XXXXX (the company I represented) launched their file-sharing product’.
“Not once did they complain about artists losing money. They only complained about the perks they were losing and didn’t want to admit their A&R choices weren’t working out.”

The above post is worthy of the front page in my opinion. Perhaps the writer would be willing to identify themselves and go on official record? If not then no big deal I guess. Your comment was still worthy reading regardless. Thanks for removing my doubts about the industries greed once and for all.

And thats the bottom line. The fat cat execs are losing their comfy lifestyle, they suck up whatever they can and give the artists a “buck” for their trouble. I hope you all go down the shitter

For the day when their businesses start crumbling around them. Then they will wake up and ponder the question “Why is this all happening to us???”.
Well i have a prediction for these money grabbing whores. In 3-5 years time, their revenues will decrease by atleast 50%. And in no small part due to the economic thuggery currently being employed around the globe to innocent people.
It’s my personal mission to persuade everyone i come into contact with, to stop buying anything from the cartels, and start downloading for free. I will continue doing this until these narrow minded fools treat their customers with respect, not contempt.
