‘$250,000 for Mydoom author’
SCO Group says it’s working with US law enforcement authorities, including the Secret Service and the FBI, to try to find out who’s behind the Mydoom virus attack.
And to help things along, it’s offering a $250,000 bounty for the identity of the author.
Described as a “cornered rat” by Linux creator Linus Torvalds, SCO is in an apparently never-ending legal battle over intellectual property rights related to the System V Unix code.
In a statement reported by ComputerWorld here, “We do not know the origins or reasons for this attack, although we have our suspicions,” says SCO ceo Darl McBride, who didn’t elaborate on what those suspicions are.
“This is criminal activity and it must be stopped.”

Good question.
