There are over a million private ftp servers across the world and they cannot legally break into them and if they hook up to upload/download, they are guilty of fraud and entrapment.
Let ‘em sue.
The world will stop buying their music slowly at first, but they will be the ones to suffer the loss.
Also there are more ways than downloading songs to get them. The dummies should know that. All we have to do is listen ……….

Tired of being treated like a criminal? They depend on you, not the other way around. Don’t buy their ‘product’. Do bug your local political representatives. Use emails, snail-mail, phone calls, faxes, IM, stop them in the street, blog. And if you’re into organizing, organize petitions, organize demonstrations and then turn up on your local political rep’s doorstep, making sure you’ve contacted your local tv/radio station/newspaper in advance.

Here are some easy FTP servers for Linux:
(a) Pure-FTPD
(b) ProFTPD
Here is a SUPER easy to setup (just download, and that’s it, the instructions are in the downloaded zip file) WEBSERVER for Windows, Mac, & Linux:
(a) myserver (go to myserverproject.net)
NOW, with these two, you just need to make a link on ANY webpage/website to your IP address. You do NOT need a IP website name (no need to pay for that). Don’t know your IP address? Well that’s easy, just go to “myserverproject.net” and there is a button. Push it, and it displays your IP address (which is simply four numbers with dots in between, e.g. 123.43.12.123).
THAT’S IT, now you can CREATE your OWN WEBSERVER and FTP and SHARE with the entire world.
Yes, it’s that EASY!!!! Congrats!

I really believe the targets of these lawsuits are parliaments. I don’t mean they want to sue parliament, but that they want to try to scare parliament into making radical and harmful changes to the law to stop some manufactured crisis.
I know people like to focus on these lawsuits, but hopefully not everyone will be distracted by this theatre to miss out on the important stuff. Please don’t just get angry at the labels, but do something about it such as contacting your elected representatives.

You are correct. The “main” attempt is to control the legislative/judicial body through manipulating the court system as they always have done. It is ‘near complete’ in the USA, and coming soon to Canada, UK, etc.
Thus, the goal of “harmonization” (you’ll hear this often if you are familiar in the fields of (a) accounting, or (b) law, or (c) politics)….
Harmonization is a very, VERY DANGEROUS “tool” since it is one of the most effective CENSORSHIP, and ABUSIVE tools to blanket the entire Earth’s population into submission. Think 1984, but several decades more “advance” in police state enforcement.
Heck, here’s an interesting recent court event reliving brutal police brutality in Italy — this guy had “This week Mr Covell, who was working for IndyMedia during the summit, said: “I was in a coma for four days after the raid; my head was split from the front to the back. I had eight broken ribs, shredded lungs, 10 broken teeth. The treatment has not finished yet. I need another operation on my spine and my left hand will have to be broken and re-set. Most of the Diaz victims are in a similar state.”
