Gates gives $15M to museum
p2p news / p2pnet: California`s Computer History Museum is billed as the world’s largest institution dedicated to preserving and presenting the artifacts and stories of the Information Age.
It`s therefore fitting that Bill Gates, who wants to make sure the information age unfolds as per his dictates, has donated $15 million to the museum.
The money was presented by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and will be, applied to expanding its endowment, accelerating its current operations through a matching grant to generate greater community support, and creating a `Timeline of Computing History,` an interactive exhibit that will trace the computing revolution and its impact on the human experience,” says a museum press release.
And of course, in recognition of the Gates Foundation gift, the `Timeline of Computing History` gallery will be designated in Gates’ honor.
The statement doesn`t say whether or not Microsoft`s foray into the world of law enforcement will be featured.
