p2pnet.net Feature:- We started running a p2pnet File Share Top Ten last year. Based on statistics from p2p research firm BigChampagne, it lists the most-downloaded mp3s in the US.
BigChampagne’s home page gives a weekly Top Ten with both download and search activity. Our BC FSTT lists only deal only with downloads.
Go here if you’d like a few words on how the stats are put together.
(Note: If a song is out of the charts for two weeks or more and returns, it’s designated ‘New’. ‘Return’ means it’s back after a week’s absense.

what about the alternative category? or maybe an independent labels group….

I know, right? I totally agree. Mainstream music sucks ass, and I never find anything that’s at the top that I actually like.

I’d love to have an indie chart. Any idea how to put one together?
Meanwhile, Yup, I agree that mainstream music mostly sucks.
But one of the reasons I run the fstt is to make the point that the cartel is losing a lot of money and customers by refusing to work with the p2p communities to sell and distribute music online.
Cheers!
