Jobs to Apple nano owners

p2p news / p2pnet: As Apple tries to convince punters they need a tiny $300 (cheapest model) iPod video player as well as the ‘old’ iPod they’ve already paid hundreds of dollars for, it finds itself embroiled in a class action over yet another must-have iPod, the $200 (cheapest model) nano with its defective screen.

And of course, one must also have the accessories – $40 Lanyard headphones, armbands in five colors each for $30, dock for $30, and iPod nano Tubes in five different colors for $30. Let’s see, that’s another $130 if you want the lot

Apple is being sued over screen problems but United Press International says the company, “has made no public comment about the lawsuit except to state that it cannot discuss impending legal disputes”.

It has, however, “advised its customers to buy cover cases for the MP3 player to prevent scratches,” says UPI.

Would that be the nano Tubes in five different colors for $30?

“Consumers have filed a proposed class action lawsuit in California claiming the nano scratched ‘excessively during normal usage’ because its protective plastic resin is too thin,” says the Guardian Unlimited.

“Apple concealed the defect and advised class members that they would need to purchase additional equipment to prevent the screen from scratching excessively,” the complaint said.

Tired of being treated like a criminal? They depend on you, not the other way around. Don’t buy their ‘product’. Do bug your local political representatives. Use emails, snail-mail, phone calls, faxes, IM, stop them in the street, blog. And if you’re into organizing, organize petitions, organize demonstrations and then turn up on your local political rep’s doorstep, making sure you’ve contacted your local tv/radio station/newspaper in advance.
