Supreme Dalek turns receptionist

OT news / p2pnet: The Supreme Dalek, “used to portray the leader of Dr Who’s arch enemy” in the BBC’s original Dr Who sci-fi series, is to become a front office receptionist.

Oh, the Shame!

It sold for £36,000 (almost $62,000) at an auction in London, England, and the money went to The Great Ormond Street Hospital, says the BBC, adding:

“The Dalek was snapped up for more than three time its estimate by communications agency Interprod, which intends to install the model in its reception area.

“The model was repaired after being blown up in the Destiny of the Daleks episode and scorch marks from the stunt still remain visible under its seat. In February 1984, it was re-painted black and white for Resurrection of the Daleks before it making its final TV appearance the following year in Revelation of the Daleks.”

Dr Who did not immediately return p2pnet’s call.

Fans should go here for an illustrated guide to the Daleks, from which the pic was borrowed.

In a bare faced display of abuse and corruption the RIAA/MPAA jihad has decided to employ out of work Daleks as it’s primary copyright cops. Known for their ruthless, relentless nature, the Daleks will stop at nothing to seek, locate, and destroy suspected infringers. While not admitting failure, the RIAA “sue our customers” campaign’s almost complete lack of results is said to be the force driving this draconian new machination. Some, even inside the industry question how the public will react to this new regime of actually executing suspected copyright violators. An anonymous tipster from the Fox network was quoted as saying, “Well, we feel a small percentage of people may react negatively to friends or family members being murdered by Daleks for file sharing, but the Daleks have cameras mounted in them that record EVERYTHING in HI-DEFINITION! So be watching for a hot new Fox reality TV show soon!”

    Interesting scenario, but unlikely, IMO.

The Daleks might agree to answer phones, but they’d never stoop that low. heh

    Cheers!

  3. Reader's Write Says:

LOL, we could then re-program them to go after the RIAA/MPAA. Now that would be funny.

  4. Reader's Write Says:

Unfortunatly Jon, the MPAA has them under contract…. and look at what those under the RIAA contracts will do if the purse strings are opend for them.
