New Google UK logo

p2p news / p2pnet: If you’re in Britain and you hit the UK Google site, (11: 25AM Pacific) you’ll see the pic on the right instead of the usual logo.

It’s the work of Lisa Waiwaina, 11.

“The Doodle 4 Google competition was open to schools located around Google’s new London headquarters in October 2005,” says the site showing entries by Lisa and four other finalists.

“Pupils from local schools were invited to send their interpretation of the Google logo, following the theme, celebration, date or celebrity of their choice,” says Google.

The competition drew “hundreds of outstanding designs demonstrating the children’s and teenager’s incredible creativity and talent”.

Judges included Google webmaster Dennis Hwang, Google Doodles creator Merlin John, and

Lorraine Twohill. online editor of the Times Education Supplement.
