Free movies on Sky broadband
p2p news / p2pnet: Britain’s Sky Digital says it’s set to offer users free movie downloads – as long as they sign up for Sky broadband.
The service, slated to launch in the next few days, "allows you to enjoy hundreds of films on your PC, including a mix of Hollywood blockbusters and classic movie titles available on Sky Movies," it promises on its web site.
"In addition, there are over 1000 sporting highlights to choose from, covering many of the major sporting events on Sky Sports.
"And with Sky by broadband you can choose what to watch and when to watch it."
Sky doesn’t say if, under the service, movies will be auto-deleted after a set period of time, or who its suppliers are.
Nor does it say how much it’ll cost to sign up.
(Thanks, Andrew)

interesting promotion. I have a hard time seeing the MPAA allowing them to give anything away for any reason.

Don’t worry, Sky are notorious for these sort of promotions. You can bet they’ll have it up to £20 a month before you know it – I’d stick with postal DVD rentals.

Well major share holder is News International aka Fox. Also Sky is only player in subscription TV in UK. They run 11 subscription movies channels 24/7, also lots of PPV channels as well.
