Mafiaboy makes hacking pay

p2p news / p2pnet: Canadian hacker Mafiaboy made world headlines in 2000 and landed on the DNA Top Ten list after he "hacked into some of the largest sites in the world, including eBay, Amazon and Yahoo between February 6 and Valentine’s Day in 2000," says DNA Evolutions.

"He gained access to 75 computers in 52 networks, and ordered a Denial of Service attack on them."

On August 3, 2000, "the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) announced that the Provincial Crown Prosecutor authorized 64 additional charges to be laid against the young offender known as ‘Mafiaboy’," said an FBI press release.

"These charges relate to the Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks launched in February of this year to include YAHOO.COM, AMAZON.COM, EBAY.COM and DELL.COM. Fifty-four of these charges relate to unauthorized access into other Internet sites, to include several universities in the United States.

"The FBI and the RCMP continue to aggressively pursue this investigation …"

In 2005, Mafiaboy is still anonymous, but these days he’s a ‘tech’ writer for Canoe News

Here’s another list, this time featuring the headlines from his first four contributions ; )

If it was so, every kids who’s searching and using hacking tools on Google would be hackers too…

This kid is a script kiddy, at best. He didn’t even take credit for writing any of the applications used. It’s highly doubtful the boy even had the skill to hack the unix machines he’s so proud of. Normally, I wouldn’t expect any hacker or even script kiddy to suffer, but this kid is begging for it. He’s proud of his ddosing, and he’s now offering tech tips? Cripes. I hope they burn him a new one.

    Script Kiddies….

He learned his lesson. He was just a kid then.

Since nobody knows who this guy really is or what he looks like, how do we know these lame articles are even written by THE Mafiaboy and not some staff writer? Like I really needed this character to tell me about the yellow dots.

Me thinks that it’s the other way around. He’s a real genius. =P
