Virgin ad naughty, and not nice
p2p news / p2pnet: Alan Dean took his 12-year-old daughter to see the new Harry Potter movie at a Famous Players cinema in Ottawa, Canada, and also featured was a Virgin Mobile Canada advertising campaign which included handing out Christmas wrapping paper.
The trouble was, the paper depicted, “stylized angels kissing and sexually touching each other,” says the Ottawa Citizen. “The male angel is touching the female’s breast, while the female angel has her hand on the male’s genitals.”
Dean thought that went well beyond the pale and complained.
The company has since “pulled the wrapping paper promotion from its theatres,” spokeswoman Liisa Sheldrick is quoted as saying. “There is a Virgin Mobile sampling going on, and the wrapping paper was intended to only be handed out to adults.
But, “Somebody had to have their head screwed on wrong to put out a promo like that at a family theatre,” the Ottawa Citizen has Dean declaring.”
It adds, “When Mr. Dean, who operates a photography studio, called Famous Players yesterday morning, ‘they were completely unaware of it, and said they wished I hadn’t gone to the media with it. I said, ‘Tough luck’.”

Well, at 12, it is not as though she doesn’t know about the birds and the bees… <rolls eyes>.
I think we need to move past this tendency to view our children as innocents, and “protect” them from such material, when they know about all this stuff anyway. And besides, odds are, the kid never realized what the innuendo was.

No. According to Jesus, in Matthew 22. he implies that those who are resurrected in the last days, will ‘neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.’ vs. 30. i used to think that was quite a bummer(pardon the pun), but have comme to the conclusion that God has better things in store. Sex is far too overrated anyway.

Yes, so disgusting. How dare they. I find it amazing that a simple sexual act depicted in cartoon form is causing such a sensation, yet no one seems to mind all the shooting, explosions and violence all around our children. Personally, I do not understand why the latter is considered acceptable viewing material while sex, a perfectly natural act, is not. Wake up people. I would rather my children grow up hugging each other than killing each other. What a concept.
