Net-based terror attacks unlikely

p2p news / p2pnet: In a statement one hopes won’t be recorded under Famous Last Words, FBI assistant director Louis M. Reigel says he doesn’t think Al-Qaida "and other terror groups" could mount "crippling Internet-based attacks against U.S. power grids, airports and other targets," according to the Associated Press.

"I don’t think that capability exists today," Reigel said in a briefing for reporters at FBI headquarters.

AP says the US had conducted simulated terrorist attacks on computer, banking and utility systems, "and Reigel said his division of around 1,100 agents treats seriously the prospect of such a strike".

Tired of being treated like a criminal? They depend on you, not the other way around. Don’t buy their ‘product’. Do bug your local political representatives. Use emails, snail-mail, phone calls, faxes, IM, stop them in the street, blog. And if you’re into organizing, organize petitions, organize demonstrations and then turn up on your local political rep’s doorstep, making sure you’ve contacted your local tv/radio station/newspaper in advance.

  2. Reader's Write Says:

Ow so when did they infect all those computers with bots then?

Could start legal action aggenst them?

  3. Reader's Write Says:

    NOW I’m scared…

  4. Reader's Write Says:

    sounds true…
still under the guise of wanting to protect the public from terrorists and criminal they are still infringing on our online privacy and rights =/

  5. Reader's Write Says:

The U.S. governemnt and cartels should

    1. Stop stealing Middle Eastern oil (”paying” for it with worthless Federal Reserve notes a.k.a. currency).

    2. Stop propping up repressive governments.

    3. Stop acting as if they can do anything to anybody with impunity.

    4. Guard the borders to protect against invaders.

    5. Obey the Constitution and respect people’s rights.

Until these things are done, fed up people with no other recourse will continue to do whatever they can in order to strike back. Unfortunately, the people that are getting hurt and or killed are innocent bystanders or low level people acting under orders.
