Janet Jackson’s right breast
The most-visited page on our site over the past week wasn’t the one centering on the appalling Pepsi-iTunes-RIAA Sleaze Bowl commercial. And it wasn’t Big Music’s raid on Kazaa. Nor was it Wayne Rosso’s thoughts on the phony Sharman Networks ‘Industry Group‘. It wasn’t even the Napsterization of a second American university.
But you’re way ahead of us, right? You’d already sussed everyone was looking for Janet Jackson’s right ti- (ooops, sorry, mammary gland).
We posted the story to keep the Pepsi-iTunes Super Bowl item rolling. p2pnet went down a couple of times and we thought, ‘Wow! There’s hope yet. America (and the rest of the world : ) takes the way Big Music, Pepsi and Apple used a bunch of naive kids really seriously!’
[To digress - we made a mistake with the headline: it should have been Pepsi-iTunes Super Bowl ad blasted instead of Apple-iTunes Super Bowl ad blasted. No wonder we had so many emails from so many irate Apple freaks. We changed it, but it was too late by then : ]
Anyhow – the top ten search phrases were: janet jackson – 26.8%; janet jackson super bowl – 10.7%; janet jackson breast – 6.1%; janet jackson exposed – 2.5%; janet jackson super bowl breast – 2.2%; janet-jackson – 1.7%; janet jackson breast super bowl – 1.5%; super bowl janet jackson – 1.5%; janet jackson’s breast – 1.3%; janet jackson exposed breast – 1%
*kazaa plus* was number 11 at .9%.
In other words, literally hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people were driven to p2pnet.net not because of the rightness of the causes we espouse, the brilliance of our prose, our grammatical expertise, or even our amazing record of never havjng no typos in storiez.
Nope. We were swamped by people wanting to see Janet Jackson’s right ti- (ooops, sorry, mammary gland).
Not that we’re complaining, mind you.
Some of you may have noticed this story is headed “Janet Jackson’s right breast*. That isn’t an accident. No. In fact, we’re thinking of changing the name of the site to janet-jackson’s-right-t-it-and-p2pnet.net.net, with a pic of the famous gland, complete with *ipple-ring, permanently cemented into the top-spot.

Yeah– The surrounding commercials all were feeding into sexuality. Viagra. Hmm… I wonder what people use viagra for. Also commercials of scantily clad women with big boobs. What do all these things make you want? But then when the actual item is manifest (THE BREAST) everyone decides that they are disgusted with it? How viciously damaged were those youngsters who saw a woman’s breast, anyway? Did they melt? My point is that Janet Jackson is sexy already, so parents have their kids watching a sexy lady on t.v. so they naturally are going to develop sexual desires. If the parents don’t want the kid to get the desired object, then they should keep them away from elements which fan the desire.

It’s not the nudity that bothers me. Europe has had public baths for centuries and is very tolerant of nudity. It was the violence in ripping off Janet’s clothing – that is what should not have happened. It was a poor example to all viewers.

What happened to the good old days?
What is happening to people nowadays?

tO TELL YOU THE TRUTH JACKSON’S BREAST THE ARE REALLY PEEP-A-BOOS ONE PEEK AND YOU BOO. BUT OVER ALL SHE IS A BITCH AS TO SAY BEAUTIFUL INDIVIDUAL THAT CASUSES HARDONS.
February 9th, 2004 at 12:37 am
So what about the superball. But even though children are getting older doesn’t mean it’s ok for them to see it. What is with her piercing on her right breast?I mean that is the worst thing by far that I and my children have ever seen from a celeb.
February 9th, 2004 at 12:43 am
Gosh, I have seen so many black breasts on National Geographics, The Learning channel, Discovery channel and Public TV. Of course those were african natives. The American Public gets so outrage on such trivial things.

first justin timberlake is freaking hot second who cares that she showed her boob oh my gosh a boob ohh my its a freaking boob everyone acts liek the have never seen a boob before its ridiculous people act liek they have never seen lil kims boob at the vmas that one year she had had a pastyon and so did janet so get over it

And your point is? I don’t have an opinion either way on the moral implications of the breast. But I don’t get what african natives has to do with Janet Jackson exposing her breast.
I can say that after hearing Janets new single and watching her on stage, I see why she showed her breast on TV. Her new CD definately won’t sell based on musical talent. She should have set up her suit to fall completely off instead of just revealing one breast.

See you fail to see the obvious righteous difference. The breasts on National Geographic are what are referred to as educational boobies. As any avid Discovery Channel watcher can tell you, educational boobies are generally a far cry from inspirational and I believe more to the point.. even the best educational boobies seldom lack the perkiness to shame even the most decrepit of PTA going, Bible beating, Middle Aged, Sleep in separate beds from their husband, had sex exactly as many times as they have children Fine Christian women.
People, seeing Janets Bared breast in the middle of the super bowl did far less to scar the lives of your children than your hypocritical coddling does. Just curious, how exactly did you have your children again? Oh and lets not forget a portion of you breast-fed those same children.
I will admit that the “staged” brutality of the scene was in somewhat poor taste. Associating aggression with what otherwise is a beautiful and natural thing in my opinion is the wrong image.
However, the baring of her breast to the entire world is no cause for alarm or panic. If your children are old enough to even have their interests peaked by the sight of a bared breast you can bet they have their share of sources stashed in a closet, under a bed, in a tree house or wherever else they have found to hide them and those images are far more descriptive and infinitely more detailed than a long distance view of an aging stars breast. The young men of today will see breasts the same way your husband did growing up, the same way your brothers, father, grandfather did. It is a natural desire and trying to sublimate that desire rather than reacting to it in an intelligent and rational manor is why there are so many repressed sexual monsters roaming the world. Talk to your children; teach your children don’t repress them you’ll find that all to often in doing so you’ll create the very nightmare that haunts you.
My Two Cents.

Remarkable how our so called cultural and religious standards seem to be simple alleyway garbage. Are we really decomposing? Maybe the Martians too had globalisation and eventually ran out of living principles. Now they are extinct. The wonders of evolution. And I must congratulate Justin Timberlake who ended up with Grammy awards after perpetrating a very conscious act of utter disrespect to societal values. I am sorry we are being blind to ourselves. This World deserves human beings with better culture. Thank you.

DON’T SEXUALIZE CHILDREN!!! YOU IDIOTS DON’T COMPREHEND THE DAMAGE. Keep breaking down those barriers and bringing down that bar — it’s why kids who are 11 think they should experiment and have sex and then they get pregnant. As far as Janet Jackson and this story about the “red garment” was supposed to stay in place — IT’S A LIE. All you have to do is look at the photos that were posted all over – including on CNN and look at what Justin holds in his hand; the cup of the outfit is only LINED on the edge with red lace — there is no bra or bustier that was torn away — if it was, then where are the torn threads around her breast? If it fell to the floor, then why is there a perfect lace edge still adhered to the cup portion he holds? She planned it to get attention because she knows she’s not the hot ticket in town any more. She and Michael are both spoiled brats who don’t think the rules of society apply to them. Guess what folks — you don’t live in a vacuum in this world and what you do has consequences. As much as you like to think that you should get to do whatever your little heart desires, just know, when you start degrading our society around us all, we’re all going down.

What bothers me is that they didn’t have the guts to own up to what they did. If they truly believed they were doing something artistic or morally/socially progressive they would have claimed so. No, instead it was a cheap tactic to get attention.
Moreover, regardless of your morals, if you go to a game or watch it on tv, it isn’t for someone else to determine that its time to change the rules. Especially when they are being paid with your money. If a viewer has antiquated notions of what is moral isn’t the issue. Jackson and Timberlake breaking the law and lying about it is.

I’m told it hurts less than an ear piercing. I imagine they’ve seen those.
As for whether they’ll see a breast as they get older – hopefully most of them have seen at least one or two when they were younger as well. Unless Nestle already made you their biatch.
If you’re letting your kids watch football in the first place, you pretty much have nothing to fear from The Tit. Just because the networks deem bone-crunching sporting events ok for a Sunday afternoon doesn’t mean you should.

I found the bozo “recreating” the the moon landing to be the most ridiculous & embarrasing thing I saw that night.

LET’S ALL GET THIS STRAIGHT, WE WATCHED ONE OF THE BEST SUPER BOWLS EVER PLAYED BUT…WE SAW A HORSE FARTING IN A WOMANS FACE TO SELL BEER, WE SAW A DOG BITING A MANS BALL SACK TO SELL MORE BEER. A FAT STREAKER TO SELL A WEB SITE. WE HAD ON STAGE FOR THE HALF TIME SHOW, THE O.J. SIMPSON OF THE MUSIC WORLD, P. DIDDY OR WHATEVER ALIAS HE’S USING NOW. KID ROCK RUNNING AROUND WITH A CUT UP AMERICAN FLAG THAT HE CALLED A SHIRT. SO AFTER ALL THE BALL BITING, HORSE FARTING, THUG MUDERER RAPPING, WE TALK ABOUT JANET’S BREAST. IT WILL GO DOWN AS ONE OF THE GREATEST PLAYS IN SUPER BOWL HISTORY.
February 9th, 2004 at 9:32 pm
All ‘em po li’l chilluns who breast feed, they’s gonna be harmed fer life less’n they be showed a shredded fetus poster.
February 11th, 2004 at 4:41 pm
“DON’T SEXUALIZE CHILDREN!!! YOU IDIOTS DON’T COMPREHEND THE DAMAGE. ” Are you really serious about this? You honestly think that the only way for someone to grow up to be a well adjusted and good person is to hide him or her from everything? Do you think that you are helping the situation any by getting your knickers in a twist?
You probably think it is bad to expose children to exposed breasts, but it is ok to let them join the military and where they will be sent to the most problematic places on the planet and be exposed to murder, rape, dismemberment, and to be forced to kill themselves?
I think you have your priorities mixed up.

Janet’s breat and pearcing would have been a topic of conversation for about 10
minutes during lunch at the office the following day. After that it would have
been forgotten. Someone may mention it to a friend while flipping thru Rolling
Stones magazine in a book store 6 months later after seeing an article about
piercings.
That was not the case. Instead, people who don’t like seeing breasts took it
upon themselves to stand in front of everyone, pointing at the breast,
screaming “Look at that! How indecent!” Then, off course, everyone else who
could not care less about the Super Bowl or Janet Jackson, become interested
and look to see what all the excitement is about. After a very short search on
the Internet they find the image and wonder how something so unimpressive
caused so much excitement.
Imagine this alternative. The people who were offended by the bare breast
should ask themselves why. If it is because it is because their children saw
it, the parents should explain to their children that what Janet did is wrong
and why it is wrong. Then leave the subject alone. Reacting in this responsible
manner will not cause your family and friends to focus on something you deem
unsuitable.
Instread, Janet has increased her record sales, improved her popularity, and
she is again the talk of the town.
Go figure.
Note: Because of all the ‘outrage’ in by a very small number of people in
America, the image of Janet Jackson’s breast has become the most searched-for
image in net history, acording to the BBC in England. Everyone around the world
wants to know why America is so upset. After seeing the image, nobody
understand why America is reacting the way it is.

So you point is that it is okay for children to watch the show? I mean…they are going to see breasts anyway when they grow up, right? so why do we even need to rate the movies? Why do they have to wait till 18 to watch porns or buy playboy? I mean….they are going to see breasts anyway, right? and some of the porns that guys actually use gentler way to take off women’s clothes. isn’t it even better for children? is that what you are trying to say?
February 13th, 2004 at 7:41 am
Bloody hell! The amount of fuss made over one little slip of clothing. If that happened to your average Jane Doe, she’d be mildly embarrased, and the few people who saw it may have had a giggle at it. When it happens to a big star, all the media goes mad. Ridiculous.

Is that really a piercing on her right breast? wow, but any way to me I did not regret seeing that superball half time show, because it was overall a very good proformance by both Timberlake and janet jackson, dispite the whole contreversial act of the proformers. But then, I still believe that the whole ordeal shadowed the micheal jackson case of child rape or what ever they would like to call it.On that case, i’m not too sure what to think right now of mr. jacko, but if in deed he did that to the little boy,I think he needs some serious JAIL TIME for that nasty act of a human being
