Releases4U returns
p2p news / p2pnet: Holland’s Releases4U is back.
Almost exactly a year ago the members of the Big Four Organized Music family caused the Dutch FIOD-ECD (tax and economic crime) police to stage an anti-p2p raid against Releases4u and Shareconnector, eDonkey sites in The Netherlands. But the site is now up again at Releases4u.net.
"Releases4U says it doesn’t make money by providing the links, which was one of the concerns of the Dutch prosecutor’s office," says The Register.
"We haven’t been prosecuted, and that is the end of it," it has the site owners saying.
"Anti piracy organisation BREIN has already warned it will take ‘immediate action’ when the site returns."
Tired of being treated like a criminal? They depend on you, not the other way around. Don’t buy their ‘product’. Do bug your local political representatives. Use emails, snail-mail, phone calls, faxes, IM, stop them in the street, blog. And if you’re into organizing, organize petitions, organize demonstrations and then turn up on your local political rep’s doorstep, making sure you’ve contacted your local tv/radio station/newspaper in advance.
