Altnet ‘keen to partner’ labels
Big Music is doing its best to hammer Sharman Networks, its Kazaa p2p app, partner Altnet and Altnet’s owner Brilliant Digital Entertainment, into the ground.
Nonetheless KaShAl, as Blubster chief Wayne Rosso calls the quartet, is still trying to sidle up to the major labels.
Having been raided by the music industry’s personal Australian enforcer last Friday, Sharman suffered the further indignity of having papers formally served on it at its headquarters in the South Pacific island of Vanuatu today, says ZDNet Australia here.
But Altnet is, “still keen to partner with the major record labels to distribute their music content via peer-to-peer technology,” ZDNet quotes it as saying:
“Altnet remains committed to the commercialization of P2P, and our door is still open to the major record labels and film studios.”
