Lime Wire LLC has released LimeWire 3.8.3 with enhancements designed to boost search and download performance and, “refine the user experience,” it says.

New connection logic helps users gain connectivity faster on startup and search progress feedback has been added to the search tabs, the company promises. And, it states, there’ll be no more downloads slowing to a crawl for the last 1%.

“LimeWire can now handle more responses,” it says. “This fixes some problems with downloading from other gnutella servents, and some potential problems when downloading from HTTP servers.”

Now with international support so files of any language can be shared and searched for, other 3.8.3. features include:

* New connection strength meter that gives feedback on connection quality.
* New search progress bars.
* Improved internal mp3 player plays mp3s of any bitrate without skipping, promises Lime Wire.
* Improved iTunes integration for Mac Users.
* New button promoting the MagnetMix site for distributing files via the magnet protocol.
* More media types supported by default, such as “iso”, “nrg”, “cue”, “bin”, etc..
* Improved downloading logic.
* Improved efficiency of indexing between LimeWires and other clients.
* More efficient distribution of host information throughout the network.
* Many bug fixes and optimizations made under the covers.
* New Linux-style release cycle.

All odd release numbers are now in the beta series (all 3.9.x versions will be betas), with full releases coming as even “.0″ versions, adds the company, meaning the next official LimeWire release will be LimeWire 4.0.
