Slow p2pnet page loading

p2p news / p2pnet: You may be noticing that p2pnet page loading is much slower than normal and you may also occasionally see, "The site database appears to be down".

It’s not down, just somewhat overwhelmed by the considerably increased traffic we’re experiencing over the holidays.

Please bear with us. We’ll get things back to normal as soon as we can.

Cheers! And thanks for your patience : )

Do you mean Warez P2P? It works for me.

Meanwhile, I’ve just learned a hard drive in the RAID array has also failed, just make things even more interesting ; )

    Cheers!

    I’d suggest lighttpd. (http://www.lighttpd.org)

It is very powerful (and light) and can survive a major slashdotting.

Mininova uses it and so does wikipedia.

I guess the holiday time is one of leisure time for all. Prehaps too much leisure time for some. There have been stories of DDoS attacks for some sites, yet others are recieving traffic in unheard of amounts.

I had noticed the rare occasion here this week where I got error messages and either assumed that rebooting was taking place or that possibily site maintance was being preformed. No matter how good our equipment, at some point one must do required work or down the line it won’t be a choice.

Being an old hand to the net, I also know those trunk lines and backbones that allow the internet to funtion have the same needs and requirements. I have seen people actually be able to pinpoint and show where the delay is and where the point of near failure is. Later those sites were replacing failing equipment.

Nothing is every 100% guarenteed and there are times when you just have to be patient. So hang in there Jon, it will all work out.
