The best king crimson era was from 1972 to 1974 when john wetton was the bass player and bill bruford was the drummer and david cross played on violin and the mellotron.

They released a simply awesome boxset called ” the great deceiver ” that covered the 1972 – 1974 lineup.

A lot of people don’t know when they started out in 1969 or 1970 the band featured greg lake on bass who later went on to form emerson lake and palmer.

The original lineup included ian macdonald micheal giles and peter sinfield.

King crimson went into dormancy in 1974 and later resurfaced in 1980 or 1981 to feature tony levine on bass and adrian belew on guitar.

The band also released a 4 cd boxset the band called the projects in the late ninties and needless to say the music was definitely different.

At times robert fripp’s guitar sucked at times and at other times the man was a FUCKING GENIUS.

The only big fm hit king crimson ever had was a cut of the larks tongues in aspic album called “easy money”.

They are one of the few survivors from the golden age of progressive rock and roll besides yes.

Lord only knows yes has come out with a lot of crappy and poopy albums and should hang it up.

Oh by the way steve hackett of genesis and allan holdsworth of UK and rick wakeman and steve howe of yes were simply FUCKING AWESOME.

It’s too bad music like that does not sell anymore.

That kind of music actually required some THOUGHT in playing it

Microsucks and the content industry have upped the ante by now thinking they can get you to buy a complete new computer system, just so you can see the latest. However, I am NOT GOING TO BUY a new un-needed monitor ahead of time, nor am I going to buy a new printer, new speakers, or anything else till those now working fail to continue to work. The industry doesn’t get that we have equipment that there is nothing wrong with, still works, and doesn’t need replacing. Making artifical reasons to increase consumerism isn’t going to put me in the store any faster. Rather it will delay my going as I want to get the full value out of working equipment already paid for.

This is the same thing that drove the backlash against computer repurchases in the past. At one time, computer makers were making models that you could not easily upgrade. Rather than allow upgrading they were requiring you purchase new, each and every time as nothing was compatible with the last years model. What happened was clones started appearing that would allow this and everyone abandoned the major makers for the clones. Again we see the same story trying to be reworked with the media side of equipment. No one but the holders and makers are enjoying or wanting this. Everyone else is going to revolt over the continual high prices and lack of flexibility these new hobbled devices are in the state of. They will become another example of an industry trying to lead the consumer done the path of repurchase for the sole sake of staying up and I for one won’t do it.

So the cartels can take their little protection schemes and cram them. Until this equipment wears out, I am simply not in the market for worse products at higher prices with a more limited functionality.
