Dutch free songs library
p2p news / p2pnet: Roel and Elspeth over in The Netherlands came across an interesting item in a Dutch online publication.
"Being Dutch myself, I decided to translate it and send it to you so you could place it on your site," says Roel.
More than a thousand bars, restaurants, hotels and related companies in the Netherlands switched to playing copyright-free music. The trade association Koninklijke Horeca Nederland (KHN) started an initiative to promote copyright-free music to members late last year.
The library of copyright-free songs can be found at the website rechtenvrije muziek.
Mainly establishments playing music in the background (such as restaurants) consider copyright-free music a viable option. Up to this point over a thousand companies decided to switch to copyright-free. They cut their costs by roughly €400.000 (about $483,995).
KNH wants to increase their library from 5,000 to 15,000 songs. The library consists mainly of "old" music, but also music from other cultures, such as Greece and Turkey.
Thanks for taking the trouble, Roel.. Much appreciated : )

I think it is only for members of KHN, but I cannot check this, because I’m at work and the site is blocked (has the term “music” in the http). I’ll check at home tonight if nobody else replied by then.

The site is for Horeca businesses…ie…thought the music seems to be free….but to get it…you have to be a member of that web-site.
