Microsoft source code leak:
p2pnet.net Security News:- In spite of predictions that last week’s Windows source code leak would probably be an embarassment for Microsoft more than anything else, a new Internet Explorer 5 vulnerability has been found that that could, after all, be down to it.
"According to a message posted by SecurityGlobal.net Security Tracker Web site, a vulnerability was reported in Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 5 that lets a ‘remote user execute arbitrary code on the target system’," says an eWeek story here.
A hacked bitmap file can trigger an integer overflow and execute arbitrary code, the security bulletin said.
"IE6 is not vulnerable, so I guess I’ll get back to work. My Warhol worm will have to wait a bit…" the author of the warning is quoted as saying in the eWeek story, going on that a patch wasn’t available from Microsoft.
