Valenti gets a medal
p2pnet.net News:- MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America ) boss Jack Valenti has been presented with a medal in his role of chairman and ceo of the MPA (Motion Picture Association), the movie industry’s international arm.
It was given to him by WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) in recognition of his, "efforts in promoting and developing the motion picture industry worldwide".
Valenti, "noted that all sectors that rely on intellectual property protection face huge losses from increased digital piracy, and urged governments to join forces with industry in the fight against this trend," says a puff release, going on:
"While visiting WIPO, Mr. Valenti met with ambassadors from several countries in Europe, Asia and the Americas whose film industries contribute significantly to economic health and job creation."
By an amazing coincidence, he’s a member of WIPO’s Industry Advisory Commission (IAC), "composed of senior representatives of industry" and which, "advises the Director General on intellectual property issues from the perspective of the industry and market sectors".
