RealNetworks buys Zylom
p2p news / p2pnet: The $761 million anti-trust settlement RealNetworks won from Microsoft is burning a metaphorical hole in its metaphorical pocket.
The company has achieved little as an online music retailer but, flush with the Microsoft money, it’s splashed $21 million (€17.2 million) to buy Dutch game developer Zylom Media Group.
Real already offers downloadable game packages such as RealArcade, GameHouse, and Mr.Goodliving
Zylom supplies Lycos, MSN and Yahoo, among others.
Co-founders Rutger Peters and Erik Goossens will stay in Eindhoven to lead Real’s PC casual games business in Europe, say the companies.
