New Hollywood, China, deal
p2p news / p2pnet: While Google, Microsoft, Yahoo and Cisco suffer serious fall-out from their collaboration with China, helping with its information blackout practices, Hollywood’s MPAA continues to forge new links with the totalitarian regime, unscathed.
The MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) says it’s signed a memorandum of understanding with the China Film Copyright Protection Association (CFCPA) for, "cooperation on intellectual property rights education and joint anti-piracy activities".
Under the memorandum, the MPAA and CFPCA will, "share anti-piracy information with each other in an effort to further the scope and effectiveness of government and industry anti-piracy efforts in China," they say, going on that they’ll, "jointly support the anti-piracy efforts of Chinese and U.S. law enforcement agencies as appropriate".
