Samsung’s 8-gig phone

p2p news / p2pnet: Samsung Electronics says it’s the first in the world to make a phone with an embedded 8-gig hard disk.

Scheduled for release in Europe during the second half of the year, the Smartphone SGH-i310 has Windows Mobile 5.0, “to provide a PC-like environment,” says the Chosun Ibo.

The phone has mp3 player, 2-megapixel camera and, “jog-type navigation keys on the front and separate music controller keys on the side,” says the story.

And like the previous model, the i310 has a QVGA 240×320 pixel display, Bluetooth and EDGE support (but no 3G or WiFi), plus a microSD/TransFlash memory slot, email client, web browser and multimedia player capable of playing back mp3, WMA and AAC audio, says Mobile Gazette.

You have to wonder, though, where the power to drive all this technology comes from and whether or not the draws degrade the primary function – to let people talk to each other.

Not to be ignored, it’s a microsoft smartphone man.

These things are amazing, I have a spv c500 with a full 1gb memory card.

Every one will have a smartphone one day, that’s why the nokias are all starting to use microsoft mobile 5.
